Roxy to come clean to Kat?

****Warning this post may contain spoilers****

The rumour has it that Roxy will tell all to Kat about her feelings for Alfie!

We've all been following the flirtatious friendship between Alfie and Roxy in Kat's absence over the last month or so.  It has been a real 'will they, won't they' storyline as Alfie admitted that if there wasn't a child in the equation he'd choose Roxy any day.  But now that Kat's return to the screen is imminent what can we expect her reaction to be?

We have already seen Mo being more than suspicious as Jean has been told to withhold information about what's going on in the Vic and Kat will seemingly follow suit.  Apparently, in the hopes of keeping a friendship up with the Moon's, Roxy finds it in herself to come clean to Kat about her feelings for Alfie!  But can we expect an explosive reaction from Kat?

Rumours suggest that Kat will throw Roxy out and forbid her not to come near the family.  However, one can not help but think that Kat would be a bit hypocritical following her repeated promiscuous behaviour of the previous year which saw her admitting to Alfie that she'd sleep with a stranger again after revealing that she'd already cheated on him on a one night stand.

We'll have to wait for it all to kick off as Kat makes her comeback on 7th June.

EastEnders to turn Theatrical?

Rumours are rife that EastEnders executives may be considering a similar move as Coronation Street by turning the soap to the stage.

The musical, Street of Dreams, is based on the ITV soap with narrator Paul O'Grady and a number of the actors of Corrie participating, covering iconic characters of the soap.  The EastEnders exec will be attending the production to assess whether it's possible to move in that direction on the BBC.

Following the 25th Anniversary live show which finally provided us with the answer to who actually killed Archie Mitchell, it was proved that the format could be done successfully.  However, I doubt we will be seeing the stars singing and dancing around the Vic any time soon as John Yorke claims that a similar live rendition of EastEnders would have to be more 'gritty' in line with the mood and expectation of the show.

The Ender's crew are, however, looking to expand; and live entertainment might just be the key.

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet but watch this space.

We'd like to hear your opinion on whether EastEnders should hit the stage.

EastEnders Win Big at British Soap Awards

There were smiles all around for the Albert Square team at this year's British Soap Awards winning no less than six awards plus the biggest accolade of them all - the Best Soap of the Year.

If you do not want to know the winners look away now!

Eastenders managed to scoop the following awards:-

Sexiest Male: Scott Maslen (Jack Branning)
Fourth time winner!

Best On-Screen Relationship: Jo Joyner and Jake Wood
(Tanya & Max Branning)

Best Dramatic Performance: Jo Joyner
(Tanya Branning)

Best Young Performance: Lorna Fitzgerald
(Abi Branning)
Yet another Branning member to win a gong!

Special Achievement: Simon Ashdown

Lifetime Achievement: Pam St Clement
(Pat Butcher)

Whilst Eastenders missed out on Best Storyline (Nomination: Tanya's Cancer; Winner: Jackson's Choice - Emmerdale) and Best Exit (Nomination: Pat's death; Winner: Katherine Kelly - Coronation Street), there were smiles around as Eastenders won Best Soap for the 5th consecutive year running.

There were also a few surprise awards including Pam St Clement who won Lifetime Achievement and Simon Ashdown for Special Achievement.  Pam thanked all those involved in the making of Eastenders and to her on-screen family who she claimed were just that - family.

Simon was also shocked and grateful for his award.  A writer for the show since 1995 and now series consultant and lead writer, Simon is the mastermind of the much loved characters on the soap, the Slater and Branning family.  He is also responsible for many of the controversial and hard hitting storylines including Who Killed Archie Mitchell? and the live show which marked Eastenders 25th anniversary.  It is perhaps the mark of his talent, that most of the awards won by the BBC soap were attributed to one of Simon's creations - the members of the Branning family.

The show saw an overall improvement compared to last year's four awards.  It proves that the show keeps going from strength to strength.

Coronation Street also had a successful night as ITV soap scooped a total of seven awards.
